Microsoft Project 2007 Professional Edition includes all the capabilities in Project 2007. In addition, Project 2007 Professional Edition provides collaborative enterprise project management capabilities when used with Microsoft Project Server 2007.

Microsoft Office Project 2007 allows you to use the robust project management tools that blend usability and flexibility to manage projects more effectively. The interactive Project Guide in Project Standard 2007 gives you step-by-step instructions for quickly mastering project management fundamentals. You can also save valuable time by converting existing task lists in Microsoft Office Excel and Microsoft Office Outlook into project plans. And you can generate templates for Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007 diagrams and Excel 2003, or higher, charts easily based on Project 2007 data, or choose from a list of customizable, ready-to-use report templates. Office Project Professional 2007 is the desktop client that is used to connect with Office Project Server 2007 as part of the EPM Solution. Office Project Professional 2007 offers all the tools found in Office Project Standard 2007, and when used with Office Project Server 2007, it also provides powerful EPM capabilities such as collaboration, management of shared resources, portfolio management, and reporting across projects and programs run by different project managers.

  • 512 megabyte (MB) RAM or higher
  • 1.5 gigabyte (GB); a portion of this disk space will be freed after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard drive.

  • Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, or later operating system *
  • Other:
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP1 or later running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services is required for certain advanced collaboration functionality. Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 SP2 or later required to use the Import Outlook Tasks feature. Visual Reports require Microsoft Office Excel 2003 SP2 or later and Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007.
    • Project Professional and Project Server 2007 are required for enterprise project and resource management capabilities. Microsoft Office Project Web Access and Outlook 2003 SP2 or later required for importing tasks to the Outlook calendar or tasks list.
    • Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (installed as part of Microsoft Office Project Server 2007) is required for publishing projects, Windows Workflow Foundation, and Project Tasks List. Microsoft.Net Framework Version 2.0 is required for the Resource Substitution Wizard.
    • Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, 32 bit browser only. Internet functionality requires Internet access (fees may apply).
